HIFU treatments

HIFU is a revolutionary technology that utilises High Intensity Focused Ultrasound energy to target volume at different depths without causing damage to the surrounding tissue. HIFU energy works via various mechanisms, including stimulating fibroblasts in the skin to produce new collagen, remodeling and contracting existing collagen fibers into a tighter and more uniform structure, contracting and tightening the underlying SMAS layer, and damaging unwanted fat cells to the point where they are removed naturally by the body.

HIFU is a non-invasive  treatment that is often referred to as the 'lunchtime facelift' as there is little to no downtime involved. During the treatment, ultrasonic energy is used to contract cells in the SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) layer, which is the same layer that a surgeon would manipulate during a surgical facelift. The SMAS layer is a fibrous tissue layer that sits approximately 4.5mm deep and HIFU is the only modality able to penetrate to this depth, enabling treatment and tightening of this deeper structural tissue.

We also target tissues at shallower depth with HIFU Glow for complete skin rejuvenation, including refining lines, plumping and smoothing texture and addressing scarring.

Our Apolomed HS-510 HIFU device is TGA approved, manufactured in Korea, and is safe and effective. It is also one of the most comfortable devices available in the market for patients. The results of a single treatment can last up to two years, and it can be used in combination with other modalities such as skin needling or Plasma Fibroblast.

 

Patients often notice an immediate lifted effect and a burst of radiance. Deeper results tend to become visible 3 - 4 weeks after treatment as collagen synthesis, collagen remodeling and SMAS tightening take time occur. Skin begins to look smoother and more elastic, skin tone is brighter with a reduction in fine lines, in addition to a noticeable lifting, toning, and tightening. Maximum results are evident 3 – 6 months following treatment. More mature patients may benefit from HIFU face lift annually, while others enjoy the results for 2 years.
