Treatment Details
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Fibrin (PRF) procedures involve collecting a patient's own blood. The blood is then spun in a specially-designed Centrifuge in order to separate out plasma or fibrin from the other blood components. This platelet-rich plasma and fibrin, which contains between 5 to 9 times the platelet concentration of regular blood, is then re-injected into the target tissue. Platelets, also known as thrombocytes, are small, colourless cell fragments in the blood which contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors. Once reinjected into the target tissue, these key growth factors (platelet-derived growth factors, PDGFs) work by stimulating the process of fibroblast collagen synthesis and are able to stimulate cell proliferation, matrix remodelling and angiogenesis. We use the T-Lab® System which has been ranked #1 in the world for being able to extract the highest dose, purity and recovery rate of platelets from the blood, therefore leading to optimal clinical outcomes. The difference - PRP vs PRF T-Lab® Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is prepared with a fast spin in the centrifuge and an anticoagulant inside the tube. The plasma is very liquid and releases growth factors rapidly. It is commonly used for full face skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, acne scarring and neck lines. *This treatment includes PRP re-injected to the scalp and then Microneedling over the top with remaining PRP. * T-Lab® Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is prepared with a slower spin and no anticoagulants. This forms a natural fibrin matrix / gel, which slowly releases growth factors for up to 14 days once injected. PRF is used as a natural alternative to dermal fillers in areas such as under eyes, cheeks, targeted lines and small area facial rejuvenation. Results Typically, the results from PRP/PRF last approximately 6 to 12 months. This is due to cell proliferation, matrix remodelling and collagen synthesis caused by platelets. It is recommended to have 3 sessions of PRP/PRF, spaced 4 weeks apart. These repeated treatments are likely to produce cumulative benefits and lead to optimal results for patients. Further treatments can occur monthly, quarterly, or yearly depending on the area of treatment, product and desired result. PRP may need more treatments compared with PRF due to quicker release of growth factors. Individual treatment plans and results will vary.
